Major award news here in Solomon-land!
Blood & Fire: The Unbelievable Real-Life Story of Wrestling's Original Sheik has won the 2022 Wrestling Observer Award for Best Pro Wrestling Book! This is basically the highest honor that a pro wrestling book can win, so needless to say, I'm tickled pink. Thanks to all the Observer subscribers who saw fit to vote for my book, and I'm humbled by the congratulations and other praise that have been rolling in. This is supremely cool.
I'm also honored to even be listed among such other authors as Brian Gewirtz, with his memoir There's Just One Problem, as well as Steve Bell, writer of Dynamite& Davey. This is something I didn't even dare to dream when I first got to work on this project over three years ago. Major bucket list item checked off!
Now, on to the next wrestling book project, which I'll be officially announcing any day now...
