People always told me that I knew a lot of things about a lot of things. So it only stands to reason that my resume as a writer would be wide, varied, and maybe just a little weird. Whether it's higher education, chocolate-covered fruit, technology, relationships, or the Loch Ness Monster--you name it, and I've written about it! Of course, every author has his specialties, and if you're familiar with my work, you probably know me as either "the wrestling guy" or "the horror guy". That's partly because I worked for WWE for seven years and have since established myself as one of the world's leading historians of the grunt 'n groan game, and I also rose to notoriety some years ago as the creator of the enormously successful Vault of Horror website (requiescat in pace).
When I'm not chronicling the win-loss record of George Hackenschmidt or tracking down the latest Lucio Fulci special edition Blu-Ray, I can also be found obsessing over exotica vinyl records, leather-bound books and all things Sinatra. In fact, I've recently been working to diversify my output to reflect this vast array of interests, both esoteric and popular. But what else would you expect from the guy behind both Chemical & Biological Warfare and The Ultimate WWE Trivia Book?
These days, I'm hard at work on Blood & Fire: The Unbelievable True Story of Wrestling's Original Sheik, the first-ever biography of professional wrestling's greatest heel. You can expect lots of updates on that project right here in the months to come. And on the diversification front, I recently signed a deal to write three more entries in the highly successful FAQ book series, on the topics of my idol Mr. Sinatra, zombies, and superheroes--in that order, naturally. They should eventually look great on the shelf next to my previous two installments, Pro Wrestling FAQ and Godzilla FAQ (currently the top-selling book about everyone's favorite radioactive lizard.)
