I haven't been updating nearly as often as I'd like, but that's because I've been so damn busy writing! And I'm excited to announce that after a year and a half of work, the manuscript for Blood and Fire: The Unbelievable Real-Life Story of Wrestling's Original Sheik, has been completed. I've never undertaken a project quite like this one, and it was definitely more work than I originally imagined--but all worth it. After months of painstaking research and interviewing, plus an assist from long-time wrestling manager, photographer and Detroit wrestling historian Dave "Supermouth" Drason, the hardest part is done.
Last week I delivered the manuscript to ECW Press, and the feedback so far has been enormously positive. I'm looking forward to the next phases of the project, including editing, layout, and most excitingly, packing this thing with as many amazing photos as I can gather. We're still on track for a March 2022 release, but I'll have more specific info in the months to come.
Pretty soon, the story of professional wrestling's greatest villain will finally be told! In the meantime, I'll be conducting a Facebook Live session this Friday night, April 9, and I encourage you to attend to learn more.
